Int’l Day for Disaster Reduction observed in St. Kitts and Nevis under “Resilience for All” theme

“Here in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Government has been responding to the felt needs of the people by integrating disaster risk reduction (DRR) and risk-informed measures into new programmes and policies largely focused on building back better and increasing our country’s resilience,” the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Mr. Osmond Petty said Saturday, October 13th, 2018, the International Day for Disaster Reduction.

MEXICO CONGRATULATES SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS ON ITS 35th ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

The Embassy of the United Mexican States to the Eastern Caribbean States extends congratulations to the Government and the people of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis on its 35th Anniversary of Independence.

Considering the important date, the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, sent a letter to the Governor General, H.E. Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton expressing his best wishes and hopes for the unity and success for the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Additionally, he sent a letter to the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Timothy Sylvester Harris, in which he communicated his intention to continue strengthening the relations of friendship and collaboration between the two nations.

St. Kitts and Nevis Embassy in Havana celebrates 35 years of Independence
On Saturday 22 September 2018, just over eighty persons joined the Federation’s Embassy in Havana to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Independence of St. Kitts and Nevis at Villa Cuquine.

St. Kitts and Nevis’ students from the different provinces in Cuba travelled to Havana to participate in two full days of activities culminating in an official ceremony, cultural performances and a dinner. The student’s party, which would have succeeded the dinner, was eventually cancelled because of the two days of national mourning decreed by Cuba following the death of the President of Viet Nam, Tran Dai Quang.
