Gov’t Pays Funeral Costs For Slain Sisters

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The government has confirmed that it will bear the cost of the funerals for slain sisters Jemelia and Naomi Finch, scheduled for Friday.

19-year-old Naomi and 20-year-old mother and Defense Force soldier Jemelia of Keys Village were the allegedly chopped to death by Naomi’s boyfriend 34-year-old Orvis Pogson on March 1st.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris revealed the government’s decision to assist the family of the murdered young women.

Escalation of gang fights at BHS leads to lockdown Thursday; police called to prevent escalation

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 15, 2018 – There are reports Thursday night of daily gang fights at the Basseterre High School (BHS) at Taylor’s.

According to multiple sources Thursday’s fight was the third in as many days and resulted in a lockdown of the school after an altercation between two students.

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police are conducting investigations into a rape incident that occurred in the Taylor’s Range area, in Basseterre, on Saturday night January 13.

WINN FM has also been reliably informed that the Police have since taken two persons of interest into custody, in relation to the rape of the female victim.

Dejohn Foster – 23 yrs of Old Road – gunshot injuries  to the left hip and the right arm.

Ajani Reef – of Old Road – gunshot injuries to the left rib cage and right thigh.
