ST. KITTS AND NEVIS’ CIVIL AVIATION OFFICERS CONDUCT TRAINING IN DOMINICA
Basseterre, 5 December 2018– Two (2) officers of the Civil Aviation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation, Messrs Griffin and Jordon, are in Dominica to deliver Screener Certification Training to the Dominica Air & Sea Ports Authority (DASPA).

DASPA had initially requested the officers to conduct the training during the third quarter of 2017, but plans had to be postponed on account of the devastating effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria on Dominica and surrounding islands.

Mr. Griffin has approximately ten (10) years experience working in the field of aviation as an Inspector and Civil Aviation Officer. He has trained personnel in the area of aviation security from a wide array of departments in St Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Jordon is also an inspector and trainer and since joining the Ministry has received the necessary training which has equipped him with the relevant skills and expertise, which he can now impart to others.

DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH EMPOWERMENT EXPRESSES HEARTFELT THANKS TO GROWING NUMBER OF SPONSORS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 05, 2018 (SKNIS): Officials from the Department of Youth Empowerment expressed heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the growing list of sponsors that came onboard to support the department’s 11th Annual High School Chefs’ competition – a popular event celebrated as part of Youth Month.

The 2018 High School Chefs’ competition included partners such as TDC and its subsidiary Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI), as well as the St. Kitts Scenic Railway; Canejuice; S L Horsfords & Company Ltd; VIP Connected; SOL EC Ltd; Dolphin Discovery, and the Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry of Tourism partnered with the Department of Youth Empowerment to sponsor the competition for the very first time in the history of the event.

2018 WORLD AIDS DAY THEME: “KNOW YOUR STATUS” IS TIMELY, SAYS HEALTH’S PERMANENT SECRETARY
Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 05, 2018 (SKNIS): The 2018 theme for World AIDS Day “Know Your Status” is timely and appropriate said Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Delores Stapleton-Harris, during a press conference on Tuesday, December 04.

“The choice of this years’ theme is certainly not accidental. Rather, it is meant to remind the world that the war against HIV/AIDS begins with each of us; each person being aware of his or her status via testing. For it has been found that there are far too many persons living with HIV who are not receiving treatment or care,” she said.
