ENERGY MONTH ZEROS IN ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR
Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 06, 2018 (SKNIS): In commemoration of the CARICOM Energy Month 2018, Minister of Utilities, the Honourable Ian “Patches” Liburd, said that the government is zeroing in on energy efficiency in the public sector.
“Our ministry has been a key player in the Bureau of Standards’ Regional Energy Efficiency Building Code project and also in the Ministry of Environment’s Electric School Bus pilot project,” said the Minister, while adding that these projects will help to make the federation more environmentally friendly. The Minister stated that there is currently an energy audit being conducted at sixteen (16) government buildings to determine measures that can be taken to make the buildings more energy efficient. |
