Heavily Armed Gunmen Rob Ocean Cold Storage

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN FM); WINN FM has received credible reports that three heavily armed assailants held up and robbed Ocean Cold Storage on the Industrial Site Friday afternoon (May 5).

Information received indicates that the masked robbers were wearing army fatigues and carrying what were described as machine guns when they entered the establishment after closing hours, at approximately 4:40pm. They reportedly robbed the cashier of an undisclosed sum of money and her cellphone before escaping in a waiting vehicle.

There have been no reports of any employees being injured. WINN FM understands the robbery was caught on security footage.

Despite calls to various officials, up until news time today WINN FM has not been able to get any information whatsoever from the police.

Bus-Driver Attacked By Gunman In St. Pauls

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); The driver of passenger bus Malcolm X was the target of a gun-toting bandit Friday night (May 5) in St. Pauls.

Police have confirmed that the driver, Malcolm Rouse, arrived at his home in Church Ghaut, St. Pauls sometime after 9pm, and as he parked the bus, spotted an armed individual quickly approaching.

Mr. Rouse ran into the back of his property and the gunman entered the bus, stealing his cell phone and some loose coins.

No shots were fired during the attempted robbery.

WINN FM understands that on more than one occasion in the past Mr. Rouse had been robbed at gunpoint.

Police have launched an investigation into this most recent incident.

PM Harris: Chinese Ren Biao Controversy A Douglas Calamity

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Team Unity government, accused of harbouring Chinese national Ren Biao who is wanted by Interpol and China on financial crime charges, is hitting back.

China wants Biao, who has a St Kitts and Nevis passport, sent back to Beijing for him to be tried for his alleged crimes, and the government in Basseterre is being accused of not cooperating on that matter.

Prime Minister Timothy Harris has responded to a call from Opposition leader Denzil Douglas for him to resign over the issue, by accusing the former Douglas administration of being the one that failed to address the matter while in government.

Two Customs Officers Arrested For Importing Illegal Guns

Two officers of the Customs and Excise Department were arrested for gun smuggling.

Reports that one was arrested while at work.

Information is that the two officers are accused of importing illegals firearms into the country.

Up until the time of this publication, Police had not provided any further details other than to confirm the arrests. No charges had been brought up until Monday evening.
