Man shot in Crab Hill, Sandy Point dies of injuries

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 18, 2018 – The young man who was shot Saturday night, March 17 in Sandy Point has died.

Thirty-year-old Calvin Archibald was rushed by ambulance to the JN France General Hospital after he was shot while playing a game of domino.
Informed sources say he received three bullets to head and has succumbed to his injuries as doctors and nurses attempted to save his life.


Archibald’s murder is St. Kitts’ fifth – all in March and officially, the Federation’s seventh.
His death also comes during a spate of shootings in St. Kitts from Sunday 11th March when Old Road residents, 23-year-old Dejohn Foster and 21-year-old Ajani Reef were attacked by a loan gunman while they sat on the steps of the Old Road Community Centre.

Friday night, March 16, Hannibal Bassue was shot and injured in Taylors and Glenville Francs died on the spot in Newton Ground after he was shot.
Saturday morning, March 17, Ricaldo Jeffers was shot in St. Peter’s. He is hospitalised with gunshot wounds Saturday morning.
Archibald’s murder on Saturday night brings to seven, the number of murders in St. Kitts and Nevis for 2018.

On January 17, 19-year-old Cleon Browne was gunned down in a hail of bullets as he walked along the road in Rawlins Village, Gingerland, Nevis.
On January 21, the body of 45-year-old Shirley Dawn Morton of Hanley’s Road was discovered in a house owned by her boyfriend, Wayne “Spyer”Chapman in Buck’s Hill, Gingerland, Nevis.
On March 1, 19-year-old Naomi Finch and her 20-year-old sister Jimmyliah, Finch were strangled and partially decapitated respectively on the seashore in Keys Village, St. Kitts.

On March 2, 26-year-old Mikelton Tyson of Phillips’ Village, St. Kitts, was shot to death on a road.
March 16, Glenville Francis was shot and killed in Newton Ground, St. Kitts.

On March 17, 30-year-old Calvin Archibald was shot in Sandy Point, St. Kitts. He died while undergoing treatment at the JNF Hospital in Basseterre.
The public is still waiting on police to disclose the exact cause of death following a second autopsy on 23-year-old Shaquille Pemberton, whose body was found in bushes on January 27, in the Gillard’s Meadows, near the control tower of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
