SIR ROBERT LLEWELLYN BRADSHAW TO BE FEATURED ON NEW EC$50 BANKNOTE, HONOURING A CARIBBEAN NATION BUILDER

Basseterre, Saint Kitts, July 10, 2026 (SKNIS): Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, has welcomed the decision to feature National Hero, the Right Excellent Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, on the new Eastern Caribbean fifty-dollar (EC$50) banknote, describing the honour as a well-deserved tribute to one of the Region’s most influential architects of nation-building and Caribbean integration.

Basseterre, Saint Kitts, July 10, 2026 (SKNIS): Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, had the distinct honour on Thursday, July 09, 2026, to proudly unveil the redesigned Eastern Caribbean (EC) $50 banknote that now features the image of The Right Excellent Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw – a fitting tribute to one of the Federation’s most revered national leaders and a prominent figure in regional development.

The redesigned EC currency marks a historic milestone in the evolution of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU). For the first time, the banknotes will no longer feature the likeness of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, the new designs honour distinguished national heroes and nation builders from across the eight ECCU member countries, reflecting the region’s shared identity, heritage and achievements.

Director of Public Prosecutions’ Office to Discontinue Proceedings Against Members of the Kollision Band


Basseterre, St. Kitts — July 8, 2026
The Director of Public Prosecutions’ Office (DPPO) advises that steps are being taken to discontinue
the criminal proceedings instituted against eight members of the Kollision Band, who were charged
by the Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force with playing music on a public road without
the required police permission.


The Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force has the important responsibility of maintaining
peace, good order and public safety throughout the Federation. In carrying out that responsibility,
the Police are required to enforce the law and, where offences are committed, particularly where
lawful police directives are not complied with, they have both the authority and the duty to
investigate and, where appropriate, to lay criminal charges. Compliance with the laws of the
Federation and with lawful directions given by police officers is essential to maintaining a safe,
orderly and peaceful society.
