Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis Unveils Theme and Logo for 43rd Independence Anniversary

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis – The Independence 43 Organising Committee has officially announced the theme and logo for the upcoming 43rd Anniversary of Independence, set to take place in September 2026.

Following a month-long theme competition launched on March 30, 2026, the Committee received an overwhelming 336 submissions from citizens across the nation and in the diaspora. The winning entry comes from Dr. Jenson S. Morton of Willett’s Village, St. Paul’s: “One People, One Vision, Endless Possibility: Independence 43.”

Dr. Morton’s theme captures the essence of a united Federation looking confidently toward the future—grounded in shared identity, driven by collective purpose and unlimited in potential.

Complementing the theme is the newly unveiled official logo, which draws inspiration from one of St. Kitts and Nevis’ most beloved landmarks: the Berkeley Memorial. Standing proudly at The Circus in the heart of downtown Basseterre, the iconic memorial—with its historic clocks and drinking fountains—has long been a symbol of community gathering, civic pride and the passage of time.

Dr. Marcus L. Natta and Ms. Viera Galloway, Co-Chairs of the Independence 43 Organising Committee, issued a joint statement on the announcement:

“The response to our theme competition proved that the heartbeat of our nation is strong and creative. Dr. Jenson Morton’s winning entry—‘One People, One Vision, Endless Possibility’—is not merely a phrase; it is the creed by which we move forward together. This September, we invite every citizen and diaspora member to join us in turning that endless possibility into reality—through celebration, service and shared pride in our Federation.”

The 43rd Independence Anniversary will feature a dynamic calendar of cultural, educational and community-driven events throughout September 2026. The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis extends a warm invitation to all citizens, residents and members of the diaspora to participate in the festivities. Whether through volunteerism, artistic expression, or simply flying the national flag with pride, every act of engagement strengthens the fabric of our nation.
