PM Harris, Senator Byron-Nisbett, and Pastor Connor hail Jacinth Francis as she turns 60

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, December 11, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — There was not a better way to usher in activities to celebrate her 60th birthday than with a church service at the Antioch Baptist Church, on Infirmary Road in West Basseterre, on Sunday December 9.

Ms Jacinth Francis, who will be celebrating the all-important milestone on Friday December 14 jumpstarted a flurry of activities that will lead to the actual day at a church service that was well attended by family members and friends, among them Prime Minister, and National Political Leader of the Peoples Labour Party (PLP), Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.

“I just want to give God thanks for today,” said Ms Francis at the end of the church service. “I want to thank all who came out to celebrate with me for my 60th birthday. It has been a pleasure to have the Prime Minister as part of my delegation, Akilah and my other friends and relatives to start my celebrations with a church service.”

Leading the worship service was Pastor Lincoln Connor, and among those who attended was Ms Francis’ friend and Team Unity’s Caretaker for Constituency Number Three (West Basseterre) Senator the Hon Akilah Byron-Nisbett, who is also the Deputy National Leader of the Peoples Labour Party, one of the three parties in the Team Unity Administration.

“As the week progresses there might be different activities which you will hear about, but first and foremost I just want to give God thanks for sparing my life to see this day and I pray that He will continue to shower me with blessings as I live to see many, many more years,” said Ms Francis. “To God be the glory, great things He has done. My birthday is Friday 14th of December.”

Prime Minister Harris expressed pleasure at knowing that Kittitians and Nevisians are a people who honour their Creator by remembering Him in whatever activities they are undertaking, saying Ms Francis is the true embodiment of who the people of St. Kitts and Nevis are.

“Framers of our Constitution rightly put it that we are a ‘Nation under God’,” noted the Honourable Prime Minister. “Ms Francis has gone on to do what is right by putting God first in her birthday celebrations. On behalf of myself and the Peoples Labour Party, the great party that Ms Francis so diligently serves, we wish her a happy birthday and many more to come.”

The Hon Akilah Byron-Nisbett, who is also the Chairperson of PLP Constituency Number Three Executive Branch, described Ms Jacinth Francis as one person who volunteers in her community and also serves as the PLP’s Polling Division Two Representative in Constituency Number Three. Also in attendance was Mr Eugene Dias, Deputy Chairperson of PLP Constituency Number Three Executive Branch

“Today we are here to celebrate with our loving, kind, warm hearted Madam Jacinth Francis who is always there for everybody,” said Hon Byron-Nisbett. “Today as she celebrates her week of activities for her birthday starting with a church service, it was just more than warm and welcoming for me to be part of it. I am thankful for all that Jacinth continues to do in terms of her volunteering efforts within the community. I pray that God will continue to bless her, protect her and guide her that she will be blessed with 60 more beautiful years.”

In wishing long life to the celebrant, Pastor Lincoln Connor noted that the Scripture reminds people to give thanks in everything, and that the Bible has promised people that God will bless them with long life.

“Sometimes we think of long life as numerical, but I think that each person can assess their life in terms of length of the quality that God has given them,” observed Pastor Connor. “So part of our expression today was celebrating with Sister Jacinth who is celebrating her 60th birthday and she invited some of her friends to celebrate with her, and among those was the Hon Prime Minister, and Senator Akilah Byron-Nisbett.”

At the Sunday service which was also attended by visitors from the United States, Pastor Connor concluded: “Of course we were pleased to have them and she was also happy to have them and her family joining in the celebrations with her. And so to us it was a wonderful opportunity for her to celebrate at Antioch and we wish her tremendous success in her future endeavours.”
