St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party officials to meet nationals in London and Birmingham, England and Ontario, Canada

Basseterre, St Kitts, October 14, 2019 – Kittitians and Nevisians living in the United Kingdom and Canada get an opportunity to meet and discuss important national issues with representatives of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) at a series of town hall meetings this month.
National Political Leader and Leader of the Opposition, the Rt Hon Dr Denzil L Douglas, will lead delegations to London and Birmingham, England on October 17 and October 18, respectively and Ontario, Canada, on October 20.


The venue in London is the Destiny Main Hall, Brent Hub Community Centre, 6 Hillside, Stonebridge, London NW10 8BN on October 17 and in Birmingham at The Hartland Social Club, 62 Aston Church Road, Birmingham, B7 5RX.


Both meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature remarks by Dr Douglas, the Parliamentary Representative for St Christopher 9; Hon Konris Maynard, Parliamentary Representative for St Christopher 3 (West Basseterre) and Dr Terrance Drew, the SKNLP Chairman and candidate for St Christopher 8.


The venue for the town hall meeting in Ontario, Canada on October 20, is the Tropicana Community Services, 1385 Huntingwood Drive (off McCowan Road), Scarborough, Ontario. The meeting begins at 6.30 p.m.
Featured speakers will be Dr Douglas, the Hon Konris Maynard and His Excellency Steve Wrensford, the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party candidate for St Christopher 4.


The planned disenfranchisement of Kittitians and Nevisians in the electoral process, the sagging economy and the deteriorating business and manufacturing sectors, widespread corruption, the poor state of healthcare and lack of opportunities for the youths will be among the issues discussed.
Participants will also be able to pose questions to members of the delegation at the three town hall meetings.
