Tropical Storm Paulette and Tropical Depression Eighteen formed in the Atlantic over the last 24 hours and the Barbados Meteorological Service is advising Barbadians to prepare for uncomfortable heat conditions in the coming days and nights.
The BMS said, based on the current locations and forecast tracks these systems pose no threat to Barbados however, as Tropical Storm Paulette and Tropical Depression Eighteen move across the Tropical Atlantic a reduction in wind speeds is forecast over Barbados by mid-week.
At 11 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Paulette was located near 17.2 N 42.2 W and is moving toward the west-northwest near 3 mph (6 km/h). A general west-northwestward to northwestward motion at a slightly faster speed is expected during the next several days. Meanwhile, the centre of Tropical Depression Eighteen was located near 15.7 N 21.2 W and is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h) and this general motion is expected over the next few days. Tropical Depression Eighteen is forecast to become a tropical storm later today.
