Eastern Caribbean Forecast: As the axis of a tropical wave moves away

However, because of the presence of available mid-level moisture, skies over these islands will remain generally partly cloudy to cloudy with brief showers possible. As the northern portion of the wave interacts with an upper low, it will push an abundance of low to mid-level clouds with a mixture brief showers and lighter rain over the Northern Windward Islands and Leeward Islands later today and tonight. Meanwhile, generally partly cloudy skies are expected over the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico today but skies will get progressively cloudy over these islands by tonight due to the combination of local effects, the northern portion of the wave and a digging upper level low.
