ANOTHER TROPICAL DEPRESSION FORMS IN THE EASTERN ATLANTIC

…ANOTHER TROPICAL DEPRESSION FORMS IN THE EASTERN ATLANTIC..
…EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS…

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

NHC is issuing advisories on newly formed Tropical Depression Eighteen.
At 5 p.m. AST, the center of the depression was located over the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean about 2030 miles (3265 km) east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. It’s moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue for the next day or so followed by a gradual turn to the west-northwest by Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches). Strengthening is forecast to take place during the next several days, and is forecast to become a tropical storm by tomorrow, and could be near hurricane intensity by the weekend. The next name on the Atlantic list is “Sam”.
