Eastern Caribbean Forecast: Instability associated with a weak tropical wave and an upper trough will combine with other local effects to generate localize convective afternoon showers over the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, a weak ridge will build over the Leewards and Islands further south and this will have a stabilizing influence resulting in a reduced chance of showers over these Islands for the most part; however, for a brief period this afternoon, localize afternoon buildups could produce brief convective showers over some Islands as daytime heating ignites afternoon convection.
