Eastern Caribbean Forecast: As the axis of a tropical wave moves westwards, it will maintain cloudy skies with showers, lighter rain and a few thunderstorms over Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Meanwhile, weather conditions over the Leewards and northern Windwards will be mostly cloudy with lingering showers; however, gradual improvements are expected over these islands beginning later this afternoon as moisture levels begin to fall in response to a weak ridge. The ridge will also maintain generally partly cloudy skies with a few spotty trade-wind showers over the southern islands.
