It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the loss of our beloved colleague and friend, Elston ‘Lox Man’ Samuel. Today, our SKELEC family mourns the untimely departure of an exceptional employee who has left an indelible mark on all of us.
Elston was more than just a colleague; he was a shining star who brightened our lives with his contagious smile, unwavering dedication, and remarkable talent.
He first joined SKELEC in March 2013 through the People’s Empowerment Program where he was assigned to the Transmission and Distribution Division as a linesman. In 2015, he became a full time employee of SKELEC. Samuel worked continuously to improve his skills and technique so much so that he was selected to assist with restoration efforts in Anguilla after the passage of hurricane Irma in 2017. His technical prowess continued as he represented SKELEC at the CARILEC Linesman Rodeo held in St Kitts in 2019. There he captured 2nd place in Pole Climb (Experienced) and 3rd in Basketball (Experienced).
Elston’s contributions to our team and the broader community particularly the entertainment industry were invaluable, and he will forever be missed. His positive energy was infectious, and he effortlessly fostered a sense of unity among us all.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Elston’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
As we navigate through this profound loss, let us cherish the memories we shared with Elston. Let us honor his legacy by embodying the values he held dear and continuing his commitment to excellence.
May Elston’s soul find eternal peace. Rest in Power, dear friend. You will forever remain in our hearts.
