The 2024 St Kitts Music Festival (SKMF) kicks off on Thursday, June 27 with an ENERGY-FILLED lineupfeaturing an impressive cadre of homegrown and regional acts. A carnival-like atmosphere is expected to emanate from the POWER-PACKED Soca and Dancehall beats that will dominate from beginning to end.
This musical extravaganza will highlight AkaiiUsweetperforming his phenomenal hit, “Bruk It Set It”. Appearing as a solo act for the first time at the SKMF, Mr. Mentionneeds no introduction. With his latest hit “Ken and Barbie”, he is always an “869” crowd pleaser. Former Power Soca Monarch winner in St Kitts, KT Dan is scheduled to leave his “Imprint” on stage with the energy of a “Big Truck”.
Reigning Power Soca Monarch in Nevis, TBone will walk the plank with the “Pirates” as he chastises the “Task Force”. Current Road March champs, Small Axe Band will “Showcase” their musical prowess as they effortlessly dance to the “Masquerade” and drink just enough “Rum” to celebrate Epic Thursday.
Sister Isle Nevis will be well represented by three (3) of their best-known exponents of energetic Soca. Eazi joins the Thursday Night Bacchanal for the first time and will be belting out his new Culturama C50 release, “Rubbers”.Former Groovy Soca Monarch, Speedy enjoys his “Side Dish” but promises to devour the full Soca plate in his Music Fest debut. Itebulous will be “Searching” when he performs one of the biggest Soca hits out of St Kitts Nevis.
Thursday night’s extravaganza travels across the region to the Virgin Islands for two of the best exponents of Socamusic. Adam O will fulfill his dream to perform at the St Kitts Music Festival with his “Sexy Dance” routine for the ladies in the audience. Pumpa also resonates with the ladiesespecially those on his “A-List”. The Bouyon Boss Asa Banton brings the Dominican flare and patrons must be made aware that he is prone to “Do Something Crazy” and “Make a Mess”.
There is no Epic Thursday at the SKMF without our friends from Trinidad and Tobago. Kerwin Dubois fits the Thursday night mood as he considers himself a “Bacchanalist” and he is “Too Real” to be left out of this Fete in St Kitts.
Soca is in the “DNA” of Mical Teja, the 2024 Trinidad and Tobago Road March champion, and he plans to “Runaway” to the St Kitts Music Festival with Lorraine for his debut performance. It hasn’t been “So Long” since we saw Nadia Batson on Bacchanal Thursday but when she comes with the whole “Market”, you are bound to get “FATT”.
Completing the Thursday night lineup is Dancehall Legend, Alkaline. He is the “Boss” who vows that he “Nah Lef Eh Game”. He brings the Music “Medicine” to the St Kitts Music Festival, unlike any other Dancehall Artist beforehim.
This year’s Festival will be staged at the historic Warner Park Cricket Stadium from June 27-29. Patrons are asked to log on to the Festival’s website: www.stkittsmusicfestival.com and view further updates and additional details.
