Emerge Gospel Challenge winners 2017 press:

Emerge Gospel Challenge Antigua 2017 came to an epic close on Saturday 8th July 2017 at the SJPC House of Restoration Ministries where the top 10 contestants battled for the coveted over $50,000 EC prize package which includes $5000 EC and a cellular phone courtesy Digicel; an international management contract; a recording contract to include the production, a photo-shoot courtesy Flow Masters Records; the opportunity to open for GospelFest Antigua Barbuda, one of the biggest Caribbean Gospel events held annually. This year the competition opened 3 spots for the OECS which were filled by Tabitha Fontanelle and Ebuka Agwunobi from St. Lucia and St. Kitts and Nevis respectfully.

The St. Kitts and Nevis representative, Ebuka Agwunobi secured the first prize with his solid performance and renditions of Worth Fighting For by Brian Courtney Wilson and Positive’s Two Man Army. Ebuka also secured the Digicel People’s Choice Award and the prize for Leadership and Discipline courtesy Rivers by Quintessence.

Kashm Charles who was one of the crowd’s favourites was the first runner up receiving $1500 EC courtesy Digicel, 2 singles courtesy Flow Masters Records and a $200.00 gift certificate courtesy Will City Men’s Apparel

Daniella Ashe, the youngest contestant, secured was second runner up and received $500 courtesy Digicel and a single courtesy Flow Masters Records.
There were also other prizes. Fourth place winner Ellisha Carr received a single courtesy Flow Masters Records and Kashm Charles received the most congenial award.

Judges for the event included musician and God First Radio CEO, Mr. William Dorsett; and former Beauty Queen and Training and Awareness Manager in the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Development, Investment and Energy, Mrs. Petly O’Keife Knight; and International Recording Artist and the brain child behind the competition, Sherwin Gardner.

CEO of Emerge Gospel Challenge Sherwin Gardner, says he is quite pleased with the quality of the talent that came in 2017 and that the purpose of Emerge Gospel Challenge is to empower young aspiring Gospel artistes by giving them a platform to showcase their talent and to grow in God. He also expresses gratitude to the sponsors Digicel, SJPC, Will City Men’s Apparel, Rivers by Quintessence and partners.

Emerge Gospel Challenge is an annual event and Sherwin is looking forward to seeing the talent that will “emerge” in 2018.
