Park Hyatt St. Kitts now taking bookings for December
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 18th 2017 – Dubbed the Caribbean’s most anticipated hotel opening of 2017, the new Park Hyatt St. Kitts is now taking bookings for December.
The agreement for the construction of the five-star Park Hyatt St. Kitts was signed by then St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas in Dubai in 2012. The ground breaking for construction of the high-end resort was held on June 3rd 2013.
Now the prestigious resort is now bookable for stays beginning Dec. 16, a spokesperson for the hotel told Caribbean Journal, a date confirmed on the property’s Web site.
The starting rate looked to be $750 per night for a Beachside King room.
The hotel, Park Hyatt’s first in the Caribbean, is located on St. Kitts’ Banana Bay on the island’s picturesque southeastern peninsula, and could be a transformative property for the island upon its debut.
The property will include 78 rooms and 48 suites across a series of dwellings in an arc around the resort, all facing the bay with either a private balcony or a terrace, with some suites offering private pools and sundecks with views of nearby Nevis.
The resort also includes three dining options: The Great House (which includes a Rum Bar), the family-friendly Fisherman’s Village and The Stone Barn, an adults-only eatery.
Wellness options will include a spa with nine treatment rooms, along with private yoga and meditation.
The Park Hyatt will also include 7,000 square feet of flexible event space.
At the groundbreaking ceremony on 3rd June 2013, then St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. Douglas said the decision to establish a Park Hyatt Hotel in St. Kitts was in keeping with his Government’s commitment to expand the number of high-end resorts and boutique hotels, not only to enhance the Federation’s appeal to stay-over travelers, but more importantly, to ensure that the stay-over visitors travelling to St. Kitts and Nevis would be able to have the type of overall impact that is being sought.
Serving Minister of Tourism, Sen. the Hon. Ricky Skerritt was praised by Dr Douglas for his vision and his skill at leveraging the unique attributes of St. Kitts to benefit those who live on St Kitts and Nevis.
Skerritt said the collaboration between Range Developments, the developers of Christophe Harbour, Park Hyatt, and St. Kitts really represents a very good marriage.
“Your Government has ‘worketh like hell’ in recent years to build the partnership and co-ordination necessary to achieve this development. We have been working especially hard to attract credible investors to undertake a number of economically and socially beneficial projects in the Southeast peninsula and elsewhere. As was predicted to be a critical need by Dr. Towle, this Park Hyatt resort project is the result of the coming together of a number of international and local individuals and groups, partnering with Government in order for this development to actually happen,” said Sen. Skerritt.
The Park Hyatt St. Kitts is one of the many St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) Government-initiated projects which were under completion when it left office in mid-February 2015.
