Designer of Kittitian Hill to be inducted into Hall of Fame

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 1ST 2017 – The designer of the Kittitian Hill Resort in St. Kitts is among four distinguished industry professionals
who will be inducted into Hospitality Design’s Platinum Circle Hall of Fame later this year.

During the gala celebration on Tuesday, November 14th at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City, Bill Bensley, founder of Bensley Design Studio,
Bangkok and Bail will be among the 2017 honourees.

For nearly 30 years, Bensley has been known for his lush landscape architecture and for designing luxurious, eco-sensitive hotels and resorts
– more than 200 projects in 30-plus countries.

Among them are the InterContinental Danang in Vietnam; the Royal Istana in Malaysia; Kittitian Hill in St. Kitts; and the Four Seasons Resort
Hualalai in Hawaii.

At the ground breaking ceremony on November 6th 2010, then Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas noted that the project was already
the recipient of three IPA Americas Property Awards for Best Architecture, Best Development and Best Golf Development, acknowledging.

He reiterated his Government’s policy that employment opportunities, entrepreneurial options, and economic development would not be restricted
to any one area “but would instead be made manifest from one end of this country to the other – and to all points and various towns in between.”

“We believe that every part of St. Kitts and Nevis must take part in this Federation’s steady march forward. That is why we would want to see
the transformation of this country where traffic would not always be moving from this part of the country to Basseterre at mornings, but also have traffic moving from Basseterre in the mornings to this part of the country in the mornings ensuring that there
is equal development opportunities and equal entrepreneurial and employment opportunities for our people here in St. Kitts and Nevis,” said then Prime Minister Douglas, who turned the sod with then Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor and Val Kampedo.

Kittitian Hill was approved by the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Government for the country’s unique Citizenship by Investment Programme.

Set in the foothills of Mount Liamuiga volcano, there are 84 low-lying cottages and seven four-bedroomed farmhouses plus five villas surrounded
by a fertile forest of greenery.

The world-class, dining options now include, The Kitchen and Mill Bar, The Pool Grille, Arthur’s Sea-to-Fork Restaurant and The Farm Table.

The three other honourees who will be inducted in the Hall of Fame are Anda Andrei, president, Anda Andrei Design, New York; Joan Cardy, founder,
the Cardy Group (TCG), Toronto and Walter Isenberg, cofounder, president, and CEO, Sage Hospitality, Denver.

The honour is bestowed on those who have dedicated their careers to contributing to enhancing design, architecture, ownership/management, purchasing,
and other disciplines in the hospitality industry.
