The Danger of Halfway

When I was a youngster, one day I was driving along the road with my older brother, James at the wheel. A drizzle had fallen and he said to me as he drove cautiously; “You know a slightly wet road can cause you to lose control easier than a fully wet one.”
“Really?” I responded; I didn’t know that.”
Recently I was thinking about the danger of halfway. It’s a serious and critical position to be in. Jesus spoke to the church in the book of Revelation; “I know thy works, that thou are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot: I wish thou were cold or hot. So then because thou are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.” Rev. 3:15-16.

Wow! Jesus does makes his preference of our spiritual condition known.
God hates halfway devotion. After all He is a great King and deserves and requires the best.
King Saul did a halfway job when he was sent by God to totally destroy the Amalekites and he paid severe consequences; 1Samuel 15.
In reference to that tribe’s unfaithfulness, God described Ephriam as a half baked cake; Hosea 7:8.
Simon the Sorcerer was halfway converted, still with a magic for hire mindset and Peter sharply rebuked him; Acts 8.
Ananias and Sapphira brought half of a monetary gift to church and they were zapped by the Holy Ghost; Acts 5.
Anything halfway for God is dangerous friend. But He has opened up the way by Christ’s sacrifice on the cross so that you can completely enter in, be totally born again like the young man who was changed from Saul to Paul and became the greatest Apostle – totally transformed.
HE wants it ALL… today.
