DR. DOUGLAS IS QUIET, WHILE FRUSTRATED LABOR PARTY SUPPORTERS SMASH CRUMBLING PARTY LEADERSHIP
The putrid stench of corruption continues to linger over the HEAD of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party (SKLP). As was pointed out before, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party still owes Mr. Charlie Pemberton almost $10,000.00 for photography services he provided to members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party in 2015 just about a month before the General Elections. The very frustrated Pemberton has then decided to air his grievances via social media after many failed attempts to recover his monies from the highly indebted St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party led by Mr. PUBLIC DEBT himself.
The impact from Mr. Pemberton successfully hanging out the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party dirty laundry was so devastating that it has inadvertently forced the hand of the Labor Party leadership into some action.
It has been alleged that Ms. Beverly Knight, who goes under the name Beaver Knightingale on facebook and who once functioned in the capacity as Secretary to the ex PM Douglas, appeared to have been sent to calm the public uproar and the apparent confusion within the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party which Pemberton’s action has created.
It has been alleged that Miss Knight, who appeared to be representing the voice of Mr. Carty on this matter, was quick to put the blame on Mr. Pemberton, telling him that the nonpayment of funds for the services he provided to the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party was his fault. “I gather that it’s the consulting firm that should have paid you and not the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party. Something seems to have gone AMISS there and you approached Mr. Carty for his intervention.”
The chastising comment to Mr. Pemberton appeared to have angered another one time labor party loyalist, AU Brown also known as Canady Brown, on FaceBook. Mr. Brown hurriedly came to the defence of Mr. Pemberton and, with a hair strand precision, fired back at miss Knight, “The excuses for delaying, or not paying is the same I’ve been getting for three years. It’s like a game. It’s always going to be brought up in the next meeting and Shavon Douglas the Treasurer doesn’t respond. Nobody can’t tell me I was contracted by anyone else. The members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party are turning away their own supporters!”
Mr. Brown, was apparently making reference to the $50,000.00 which it allegedly cost the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party to host its guess speaker at the recent New Year’s Gala hosted by former Prime Minister at the St Kitts Marriott, continued to blast the labor party leadership. “They can find money to host all kinds of events and bring in people but none to pay US their supporters!”
Brown continued, “Beverly, that’s the only thing that seems to be AMISS. Let me add. I don’t know Charlie, but I feel his pain and all the other Labor supporters that haven’t been paid after three years. Labor supposed to be about the people!” (Revealing a much talked about truth which has been stifled for years – that Dr. Douglas is not about the people) “But when we get treated like this, it make us question their sincerity!!!” Retorted declamatory Brown, who expresses his feelings with great disgust, as he continues TO QUESTION THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE LEADERSHIP OF THE PARTY HELD AND LED BY DR. DOUGLAS.
Canady Brown, who once flamed the KYSSFM airwaves as an advocate for Dr Douglas, has now turned into a major critic of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party. According to Brown who was indebted, he had entered into an agreement with the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party that the SKLP would pay off his debt over a 10 month period after having acquired KYSSFM radio station which is now allegedly owned and run by Dr. Douglas.
The unfettered Brown, who has finally broken free from the shackles of an oppressive Labor Party leadership, is of the view that the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party wants to pressure him into submission. “They know I will never be bought. The government owes me and has refused to pay me. That makes it even harder to accept the same treatment from them that I’ve only voted for.”
If it was not publicly known before Mr. Brown highlighted the impoverished state of the Labor Party, it is known now. He stopped short of saying plainly that the Party has gone to the cleaners and is DEAD BROKE! They could not pay their debt and had made an arrangement to make payments in installments which they were still unable to do. “Like you (Charlie Pemberton) I’m frustrated after given the run around and at times the silent response. I asked them to pay me in installments. They agreed and Shavon Douglas paid me $1500 of the agreed $2500 monthly and paid nothing else. IT’S A BLOODY SHAME WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THEIR OWN. I understand they are in a lot of debt, but pay everybody a little every month instead of nothing. At least they would be demonstrating a willingness to clear the debt.”
Dr. Douglas, while in government was is associated with an infamous comment, “PUBLIC DEBT ME ARSE” after he led the country into over (2) two billion dollars in public debt and to the IMF and today as leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party he has done no different from his indebted past but to lead the St. Kitts-Nevis Labor Party into INDEBTEDNESS and irreversible INSOLVENCY. Time for new leadership!
