Central Basseterre Week of Activities include clean-up campaign, church service, games and award presentation

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 19, 2018 – Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher 2 (Central Basseterre), Hon. Marcella Liburd, kicks off the annual week of activities on Saturday with a clean-up campaign in an area of the constituency.

Liburd, supporters of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) and residents will clean up the Mc Knight area on Saturday morning.

Activities continue on Sunday 21st with a church service at the Resurrection and Life Church on the corner of Lower Fiennes Avenue and Irish Town Bay Road at 9 am.

A Town Hall session on healthy lifestyles will be held at the old Basseterre Girls School on Victoria Road on Monday 22nd at 7 p.m.

Senior citizens, the sick and shut-in will be visited on Tuesday 23rd January and the Second Annual Nadia Natta Primary School Tennis Competition will be held on Wednesday 24th.

The two-term parliamentary representative and former speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly will also present the annual Marcella Liburd awards and Starter Saving Plan on Wednesday.

A Walk tru of the Central Basseterre constituency and a domino competition are planned for Thursday 25th; visits to pre-schools in the Constituency and a basketball competition are to be held on Friday 26.

A community breakfast will be held on the morning of Saturday 27th followed by Street Football in the Shadwell/Pine Gardens community in the afternoon.

Another church service is planned for Sunday 28th.

The week of activities is being held under the theme: “Stronger families, Safer communities” and is aimed at helping the communities to continue to break the cycle of violence by investing in our children and in families.”
