Forensic pathologist: Priston Flemming was murdered
Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 5, 2018 – A pathologist has concluded that *21-year-old Priston Joel Flemming was murdered.
Forensic pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov who performed a post mortem examination on Flemming’s body on Wednesday, April 4, concluded that Flemming died as a result of Homicidal Ligature Strangulation.
Homicidal Strangulation is a common form of murder. Usually there is a single turn of ligature round the neck, with one or more knots (granny or reef knots) at the front or side of the neck.
Flemming went missing on February 27 and was last seen in the Old Road area. His partially decomposed body was found among trees on the side of a steep ghaut in the mountainous area of Wingfield Road, Old Road on April 1.
Police said investigations into the matter are ongoing. Persons with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialing 467-1887 or 467-1888, 662-3462.
Flemming is St. Kitts’ 6th murder victim and the Federation’s 9th for 2018.
*Police gives his age as 21.
