Guyanese national died from multiple gunshot wounds
Charlestown, Nevis, April 5, 2018 – Guyanese national Marlon James died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The body also had 90 percent thermal burns.
That is the conclusion of Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov, who performed an autopsy on the body on Wednesday April 4.
A thermal burn is a type of burn resulting from making contact with heated objects, such as boiling water, steam, hot cooking oil, fire, and hot objects. Scalds are the most common type of thermal burn suffered by children, but for adults thermal burns are most commonly caused by fire.
The body of James, who resided at Brown Hill, Nevis, was discovered on March 31, 2018, along a road in the Hamilton area.
A source in Nevis said police retrieved a gas canister not far from where the body of James was found and it is part of the items of an evidential nature that were taken into custody.
Police said Thursday investigations into the matter are ongoing and appealed to persons with information regarding this incident to contact the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391.
James is Nevis’ third murder victim and the Federation’s 8th for 2018.
