HON. LINDSAY GRANT LAUNCHES “FUEL FOR SCHOOL” BREAKFAST PROGRAMME IN #4
Hon. LINDSAY Grant has today demonstrated that he is about putting people first by launching his “Fuel For School” Breakfast School Feeding Programme at the Tyrell William’s Primary School in his constituency.
Hon. GRANT, in putting his money where his mouth is, has made an initial commitment to provide Breakfast every Wednesday to the children at the school. Breakfast would be provided for everyone but particularly for those students who are not so fortunate to have a substantive breakfast at mornings. According to Mr Grant, “Breakfast is the fuel for a productive day of learning.” Today at the launch of the program, over 50 students were served with a rich breakfast.
This initiative was received with open arms by persons by persons in the community such as: Constance Gumbs (Meddo), Earklyn Boone (Dotty), Carolyn Lucas, Laureen James, Merle Liburd- Browne and Mrs. Wendy Grant who all volunteered their services to ensure that this initiative is a success by especially reaching the students who need to begin their day right .
Hon. GRANT said that the emphasis should be on the children and he plans to eventually expand the programme as the need arises. “Our children must be supported in every way to ensure a comfortable learning experience. No child would be comfortable without breakfast,” Hon. GRANT concluded.
