Dr. Geoffrey Hanley retires from Bronte Welsh Primary
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 1, 2018 – The staff and students of the Bronte Welsh Primary School have said good-bye to their principal, Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, who in just two years at the helm has transformed the educational institution.
“Bronte Welsh will be my heart’s school. Continue to do well. It’s hard to say good-bye but I move on,” said Hanley in a brief farewell ceremony on the school rounds on Monday afternoon.

Dr. Hanley used the occasion to present a set of pens to his successor, Mrs. Rogers as a symbol of the legacy she will carve out in moving the school forward.
“You have served your country for 28 years. You have great leadership skills, you are a hard worker (and) you are creative. So many persons you have helped and molded. You taught me when given limes just don’t make lemonade, but turn limes around smile and shine like a bright star,” said close friend, Ms. Hazel Jeffers, a devoted primary school teacher at the Cayon Primary School.
“I know today was a hard one as it was your final day a Bronte Welsh. In 2 years you did so much. You are young still and full of energy and positive ideas. Whatever your next move is, I support you 200%. Congrats to the new head teacher. You are blessed and highly favoured. Best wishes my friend,” said Jeffers as she wished Dr. Hanley “happy retirement.”
