Timothy Harris government incapable of Guaranteeing the health security of the Nation
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 6, 2018 – With a high level of public opinion that the Timothy Harris-led Team Unity Government is incapable and unable to guarantee the health and security of the nation, a former senior health official said there is absolutely no reason for the Ministry of Health to be without a Permanent Secretary for more than one and a half years.
“It is the height of neglect and rabid incompetence. The Team Unity Government (TUG) has sat by and watch that Ministry deteriorate to a depth never before seen in this Country,” said Wattley, a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Office of the Prime Minister in the previous Labour Party administration.
“Yet there is no urgency in their steps,” said Wattley, the past chairman, of Prime Minister Harris’ Peoples Labour Party (PLP) who and along with several executive and founding members were ousted from the PLP for calling for the accounting of over EC$10 million in PLP campaign funds in the run-up to the 2015 General Elections.
