POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING INCIDENT AT TAYLOR’S

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 31, 2018 (RSCNPF): A shooting incident at Taylor’s Village has left one dead and two (2) injured. Police received and responded to the report of the shooting at about 7:55 p.m on May 30, 2018.

Investigations so far have revealed that a 17-year-old male juvenile was inside his residence along with two (2) other persons. Outside the premises were Antonia Lestrade (male, 19 years old) and a 15-year-old male juvenile. Four (4) masked assailants entered the premises and one (1) of them began shooting. The 17-year-old juvenile exited the house and received gunshot injuries about the body, which left him fatally wounded. The 15-year-old juvenile also sustained gunshot injuries about the body and Lestrade received a gunshot to his left elbow. 

Both Lestrade and the 15-year-old juvenile were transported to the J.N.F. Hospital by the Emergency Medical Service. Lestrade is warded in a stable condition, while the juvenile underwent Emergency Surgery and is warded at the Intensive Care Unit in a serious, but stable condition. The Technicans from the Forensic Services Department processed the scene and items of evidential value were collected.
