REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 29, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period May 26- 29, 2018.

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: David Bakut of Mattingley Heights was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on two (2) Counts of Forgery committed between January 01, 2016-December 30, 2017. 

Arrested/Bailed: Kerim Rawlins of Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 04, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Kyle Bridgewater of Nevis Street was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 07, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Akil Byron of Ponds Extension was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 07, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: John Davis Antonio Andujar of St. Johnson Avenue was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s Licence. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Madison Levitsky was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance and Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle. She was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 05, 2018.

Bailed: Hashim Douglas of Lime Kiln, who was charged for the offence of Possession of a Firearm, was granted bailed in the sum of $30,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on the June 04, 2018.

Bailed: Emmanuel Ukenenye of Mattingley Heights, who was charged for the offence of Forgery, was granted bailed in the sum of $20,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 02, 2018 with the condition that he is to report the Basseterre Police Station on Mondays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Bailed: Rodney Steinvergen of Old Road, who was arrested on a warrant when his summons was disobeyed, was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 20, 2018.

Bailed: LindelGonzaley of Ponds Pasture, Basseterre, who was charged for the offence of Larceny of Money, Larceny of Jewellery and Assault with a Firearm, was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 02, 2018. He received bail with the conditions that: (1) he is to have no contact, directly or indirectly, with the Virtual Complainant; (2) he is to stay at least 100 feet away from the residence and place of employment of the Virtual Complainant; and (3) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. every Wednesday.

COURT CONVICTIONS

In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, which was presided over by His Honour Mr. Reynold Benjamin, the following were reported:

– Jahvon Wilkinson of Pine Gardens, Shadwell was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and was ordered to pay $2,000 in four (4) months or, in default, serve six (6) months in prison.

– Tishawn Maynard of Bird Rock was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and was ordered to pay $2,000 in four (4) months or, in default, serve six (6) months imprisonment. He was also convicted for Possession of Cannabis With Intent to Supply and was ordered to pay $3,000 to be paid in four (4) months or, in default, serve six (6) months in prison. His Honour also ordered the forfeiture of EC $1,775 and US $40 to the crown that was found in the possession of Tishawn Maynard at the time of the arrest.

– Ivan Liddie of Crescent Drive, Bird Rock was convicted for Possession of Cannabis and was ordered to pay $500 in one (1) month or, in default, serve twenty-one (21) days in prison. He was also convicted for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and was ordered to pay $1,000 in one (1) month or, in default, serve six (6) months in prison.

– At the High Court, Jermaine Riley of Soho Village, who was indicted for two (2) counts of kidnapping continued. A verdict of ‘Not Guilty’ was returned on both coun

In matters at the Charlestown Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Ms. Donna Harris, the following was reported:

– AkeemBartlette of Harris Village, Gingerland was convicted and fined $400 to be paid on May 25, 2018 for two counts of Making Use of Indecent Language. If the fines are paid on time, there will be no records of any convictions against him.

In matters at the District ‘B’ Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill-Hector, the following were reported.

– Kareem Hanley of Half Way Tree was previously charged for the offences of Assault, Indecent Language and Wearing Camouflage Pants. Two charges were dismissed and for the offence of Indecent Language, he was fined $400 to be paid by June 15, 2018 or, in default, serve thirty (30) days in prison. Kareem Hanley had also been charged previously for the offences of Threatening Language, Obstruction and Disorderly Conduct. He was fined $300 on all charges which are to be paid by June 15, 2018 or, in default, serve thirty (30) days in prison.

– Michael Phillip of Molyneaux who was charged for Larceny of Electricity was fined $1,000 to be paid by June 15, 2018 or, in default, serve thirty (30) days in prison. He was also ordered to pay compensation in the amount of $2,500 forthwith to SKELEC.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers of the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) reported that they uprooted 1,786 Marijuana plants ranging from one (1) to five (5) feet in height in the Stapleton area.

Members of the Tabernacle Station, District ‘B’ patrol and members of the SKNDF reported that they visited a number of different lots in which they uprooted 3,000 Marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to eleven (11) feet in height at Mansion Estate and 17,511Marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to six (6) feet in height from sixteen (16) different locations in Estridge Mountain.

Abandoned Properties Searched: Police continued to execute searches on properties.  Most recently they were done in the areas of Half Moon Bay, St. Johnston Village, Sandy Point and Mad House Alley.

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Sandy Point, St. Pauls, Parsons Ground, Cayon and Lower Monkey Hill.
