REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, June, 12 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 09-11, 2018.
ARRESTS AND BAIL:
Arrested: Réice Warner of Farms Road, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.
Arrested/Bailed: Gurminder Singh of Half Moon Bay, Frigate Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Battery on Police, Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. He was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 02, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Pia Joyde Nisbett of Upper Monkey Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. She was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate court on July 02,2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Azandy Audain of Cunningham Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Refusing to give a Blood Specimen for a Blood Alcohol Test, Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle, Driving an Uninsured Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of an Accident, all of which were committed at Keys. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 14, 2018.
Bailed: Calvert Junior Francis of Charles Ground, St. Pauls, who was arrested for the offence of Armed with an Offensive Weapon, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court July 02, 2018.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by His Honour Mr. Reynold Benjamin, the following were reported:
– Shakeem Thomas of New Road was convicted for Battery and was fined $2,500 to be paid in three (3) months or, in default, serve eight (8) weeks in prison.
– Qunicy Duncan of Newtown pleaded guilty to Possession of Cannabis and was ordered to pay $6,000 in two (2) months or, in default, serve six (6) months in prison.
– Calvin Browne of Stapleton was convicted for the offences of Obstruction, Indecent Language, Assault and Threatening Language and was placed on a bond for one (1) year in the sum of $2,500 on all charges.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers of the Special Services Unit (SSU), along with men of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) reported that they uprooted forty-nine (49) marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to two (2) feet in height in the Lime Kiln area.
Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on propertiesin the following areas: Upper Monkey Hill, Sandy Point and Durant Avenue.
Abandoned Properties Searched: Police continued to execute searches on properties. Most recently they were done in the areas of Trafalgar Village, Pitcairn Street (Newtown) and Sandy Point.
