POLICE INVESTIGATING ARMED ROBBERY INCIDENT
Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 30, 2018 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred on June 27.
At about 10:21 p.m. on Wednesday, Police responded to the residence of Xie Zhung Yi at Cayon Street, Basseterre. Investigations so far have revealed that Ms. Yi was at home with her two grandchildren when two masked men entered her bedroom with what appeared to be knives. One of the intruders held a knife to Ms. Yi, while the other searched rooms. They were able to take a large sum of money from the residence before escaping.
Members of the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence to assist with the investigation that has been launched into this matter. Persons with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at the Basseterre Police by dialing 465-2241.
