REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 31, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period July 27-30, 2018.
ARRESTS AND BAIL:
Arrested/Bailed: Donell Mathurine of Morning Star was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on July 31, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Bernel Whyte of Central Fiennes Avenue was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Throwing Missiles. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on September 03, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Vernon Paris of Upper Shaw Avenue was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Throwing Missiles. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on September 03, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Jermaine Brookes of Parray’s Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on August 02, 2018.
Bailed: Roosevelt Joseph of Camps Estate, who was arrested for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court July 31, 2018.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matters at the District “B” Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Karen Hill-Hector, the following were reported:
– Denzel Challenger of Main Street, Old Road was convicted of several traffic offences. For the offences of Failing to Produce Driver’s License and Driving Without Insurance, he was convicted and fined $1,000 to be paid on each charge by August 26, 2018 or, in default, serve fourteen (14) days in prison. For the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention, he was convicted and fined $600 to be paid by August 26, 2018 or, in default, serve thirty (30) days in prison. For the offence of Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired License, he was convicted and fined $100 to be paid by August 26, 2018 or, in default, serve fourteen (14) days in prison.
– Sylvester Edwards of Sun Crest, Bird Rock, who was charged for the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention, was convicted and fined $2,000 to be paid by August 26, 2018 or, in default, serve two (2) months in prison.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: East Street (Newtown), Fig Tree, Farm Site, Stadium View (Sandy Point).
Abandoned Properties Searched: Police continued to execute searches on abandoned properties. Most recently, searches were done in the following areas: Sandown Road and Dasent Road (Gingerland).
