Beers intoxicate Small Corner Bar in Constituency Number Seven Domino League
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 7, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project was on Thursday evening September 7 the venue of two exceedingly exciting games in the second segment of play in the second round of the round-robin stage in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition.
In a clinically executed game, Beers Domino Club decimated Small Corner Bar Domino Club 13-0 where observers were left wondering if Small Corner Bar players were asleep when the game was taking place. Anchor Beers player, Valencia Alexander, simply said: “I don’t know.” A player in disbelief posted this message on their WhatsApp chat group: “Da game play or default points?” In the first round, Beers had beaten the same team 13-3.
It was however a totally different game where defending champions Lodge fought tooth and nail, coming from behind 5-7, to beat newcomers Phillips Domino Club 13-9. It was sweet revenge as the new comers had only in the previous week humbled the defending champions with a 13-4 thrashing in a delayed first round game.
Sylvers Domino Club had the last laugh when they travelled to Constituency Six and beat home team Parsons Domino Club 13-11 at Bradshaw Bar in Parsons Ground. In their first round encounter, it was Parsons who had travelled to Constituency Seven and effectively beat Sylvers 13-5 at the latter’s den, Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.
In the other games played on Thursday September 6, Unity beat Christchurch 13-7 at Domino House in Mansion; Guinness beat Giants 13-9 at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village; while Saddlers beat Molineux 13-10 in Saddlers Village. In a delayed game from the first segment, Unity beat Phillips 14-5 on Wednesday September 5 at Domino House in Mansion.
Play resumes on Tuesday September 11 when the third segment in the second round of the round-robin stage in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition takes off at five venues. Sylvers will travel to Lodge Project where they will meet Unity at Cuban Bar, and Parsons will travel to Mansion to meet Phillips.
Other games will see Beers at home to Christchurch at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village, and Saddlers will entertain Guinness in Saddlers Village. The Lodge Community Centre will be the venue of two games, Unstoppable vs. Small Corner Bar, and Molineux vs. Giants.
