PM HARRIS CONGRATULATES LIME KILN COUPLE ON BIRTH OF BOUNCING INDEPENDENCE 35 BABY GIRL

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 19, 2018 (SKNIS): Shortly after the Independence Ceremonial Parade at Warner Park, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, accompanied by the Honourable Wendy Phipps, Minister of State within the Ministry of Health, visited the Joseph N. France General Hospital to join Lime Kiln couple Alisha Perez and Jorge Perez in welcoming their bouncing baby girl, Anais Perez, who was born on the nation’s 35th Independence Day, September 19, 2018.

Prime Minister Harris was escorted throughout the Maternity Ward by Nurse Manager, Danielle Christmas-Wiggins, to meet baby Perez who was born at approximately 5:07am.

He congratulated the couple and expressed his pleasure that the baby girl was born in good health.
“In this the great day of our nation, we expect great things to come from her so I congratulate the father and the mother and wish them well,” said Prime Minister Harris, as he presented the just few hours old baby to her father.

He explained that he presented the baby to the father to encourage the fathers of the nation to take an example from Mr. Perez and be present in the lives of their children from the start through the various stages of their development.

“I presented the young baby to the father because we have had too many absent fathers in the lives of our young children and so today he is taking a stand which we would like all fathers to do and follow the example to be involved in the lives and the developing and nurturing of our young people from the very start,” the Prime Minister Said. .
