REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 24, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period September 15-21, 2018.
ARRESTS AND BAIL:
Arrested: Danza Bolus of Old Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for offences of Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving Without Insurance.
Arrested: Stevenson Duperval of Taylor’s Range was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance.
Arrested/Bailed: Cykes Esdaille of Newton Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on November 05, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Sheldon Shield of Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Being Armed with an Offensive Weapon to wit a Machete. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Police Station on October 12, 2018. The bail conditions are as follows: (1) he is to report to the Sandy Point Police Station every Monday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.; (2) he is to have no contact with the Virtual Complainant; and (3) he is to stay at least 100 feet away from the Virtual Complainant.
Arrested/Bailed: Clayton Skeete of Phillips’ Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance, Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License. He was granted bail in the sum of $500 and is to appear at the District “B” Magistrate Court on October 01, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Ryon Powell of Dieppe Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Giving a False Name. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on November 05, 2018.
Bailed: Omari Tota of Newtown, who was charged for the offence of Inflicting Grievous Body Harm, was granted bailed in the sum of $25,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 01, 2018 with the following bail conditions: (1) he is to have no contact, either directly or indirectly, with the Virtual Complainant; (2) he should not come within 20 feet of the Virtual Complainant; and (3) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Saturday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
COURT CONVICTION:
In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by His Honour Mr. Reynold Benjamin, the following was reported:
– Dexter Huggins alas “Muffin” of Buckley’s Estate, who was charged for the offence of Larceny, was sentenced to three (3) months in prison.
In matters at the Court of Appeal the following was reported:
– Dinzey Ryan of Old Road, had his appeal against his sentence upheld by the Court. Ryan was charged with murder and was sentenced to life in prison. The Justices of Appeal reduced his sentence to twenty-five (25) years. Ryan has already served seventeen (17) years, which is equivalent to a 25-year sentence. He was therefore ordered discharged.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: West Bourne Ghaut, Conaree, Lodge Project, Upper Shaw Avenue, New Road, Stone Fort, Sandy Point, St Paul’s and Old Road.
