September 26, 2018 (The Ministry of Foreign Affairs): At a brief ceremony held today 25th September, 2018, in the margins of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, the Honourable Mark Brantley, signed a Joint Communique to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of San Marino.

San Marino, like St. Kitts and Nevis, bears the title of one of the world’s smallest countries.

In a brief signing ceremony, Minister Brantley and Foreign Minister Nicola Renzi of San Marino were eager to discuss the many common features of the two states.

San Marino, known as the 3rd smallest European state with a population of 35,000, has an economy bustling mainly with tourism and banking activities. Against this backdrop, the Foreign Ministers discussed areas of potential strong bilateral cooperation and expressed high interest in signing a mutual visa waiver between St. Kitts and Nevis and San Marino shortly.
