Champions Lodge lead in fight for Constituency Number Seven Domino League supremacy

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 29, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — At end of play on Thursday September 27 in the eighth segment of the second round of the round-robin stage in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition, defending champions Lodge have opened up a lead that could see them retain the title.

Playing at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, the defending champions scuttled all opposition by the upbeat home team Guinness whom they beat 13-7. The defending champions who next week Tuesday October 2 return to the same venue to meet the other home team, Beers, expect to maintain the tempo right to the end of the round-robin stage to comfortably sail into the semi-finals that will be played late October.

In other games played on Thursday September 27, Unity beat Small Corner Bar 13-9 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project. The game between Saddlers and Phillips that was due to have been played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux was postponed to a later date as some of the players were attending a funeral.

At Domino House in Mansion Village, home team Christchurch stopped Unstoppable 13-11; Molineux used the home advantage to beat Sylvers 13-5 at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux; and in a game whose venue was changed from Bernette Bar in Hidden Valley Lodge Village, to Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, Beers defied their away disadvantage to beat home team Giants 13-8.

According to Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League coordinator, Calvin Farrell, Lodge now lead in point standings with 93 points. Others are Unity, 89; Parsons, 79; Unstoppable, 74; Christchurch, 65; Molineux, 62; Beers, 59; Saddlers, 58; Sylvers, 50; Guinness, 50; Giants, 50; Phillips, 47; and Small Corner Bar, 35.
