Molineux draw first blood in Best of the Rest finals in Constituency #7 Domino League
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, November 6, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, was last evening (Monday November 5) the venue of a very tight and hotly contested match between the two Best of the Rest competition finalists in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition.
Of the five teams that qualified to take part in Best of the Rest competition this year, Molineux Domino Club and Giants Domino Club fought through their way into the finals. The first of the two match final competition was held last night. It was a tight match right from the word go but Molineux had the edge and took a close 13-12 win.
The match was refereed on table one by Keithly Gaskin, and on table two by Norris Sharry, while the scorer was Hope Bradley.
The two teams will face each other tomorrow evening (Wednesday November 7) at the same venue starting at 7:30 pm. If Molineux wins, then the club will be crowned the 2018 Best of the Rest champions. Since it is a two match final, ‘Super 100’ rule will apply to break the tie and determine the champions if Giants were to win tomorrow.
Explaining how the ‘Super 100’ rule applies, Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League coordinator Calvin Farrell noted that one table will go back to play and the team that is the first to attaint 100 will be crowned Best of the Rest 2018 champions.
Lodge Community Centre will tonight (Tuesday November 6) host a match that has the potential to determine the 2018 Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League champion team.
Lodge the defending champions are facing Parsons Domino Club from Constituency Number Six in the second of the best of three finals. Parsons hold all the aces having won in the first encounter in the best of three finals when the two met on Thursday November 1.
League coordinator Calvin Farrell has advised that if Parsons Domino Club wins tonight, they will be crowned the new champions. However, should defending champions Lodge cancel the deficit and win tonight, then the determining match in best of three finals will be played at the same venue on Thursday November 8.
