The gospel concert was one of the highlight activities organized to celebrate Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris’ 25th anniversary of serving the people as a Parliamentarian. The well-attended event attracted a diverse audience of persons from all walks of life, and brought communities together in a celebration of God.
The evening saw performances from a number of local individuals including Ms. Dawn Williams; eight-year-old visually impaired Mia Romney; Mr. Jermaine James; Mrs. Shirley Williams; Mr. Shaquille Gumbs, Mr. Nyquan Nisbett, as well as other local acts from a host of local churches.
Before the headline act took to the stage, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris addressed the large crowd. There, the Prime Minister dubbed Sunday night’s event as “a thank you concert” for the people, noting that the inspirational event was “one where we give praise and thanks for all the wonderful things that have happened in our lives, and we want to count our blessings, count them one by one [and] surprise yourselves with all the wonderful things that God has done for you.”
Dr. Harris noted that we, as Kittitians and Nevisians, are a favoured people, “and we have to lift up our voices in thankfulness. Everybody wants to stay here, everybody wants our passports. You are the sons and daughters of this beautiful land, and we want you to feel proud of your country and proud of what we have been able to accomplish, all thanks be to God.”
Marion Hall, formerly known by the stage name Lady Saw, entertained and ministered to the appreciative audience for more than an hour and a half. Hall performed a number of her latest gospel hits, including, “I am a Warrior,” “Room in my House,” and “Enemy.”
While on stage, Minister Hall also made an altar call, at which time she delivered a special prayer for all those who stood before the stage to receive a blessing.
