This year marks the first time that tokens of appreciations will be presented to the youth partners and corporate sponsors.
Acting Director of Youth Empowerment, Pierre Liburd, noted that the department was pleased to present the tokens. He said that the awards are intended to serve as tangible reminders to the recipients of the contributions that they are making to advance the department’s programmes. It is also intended to encourage the awardees to continue making a difference in the lives of the nation’s youth.
Awards will be presented to: the Most Remarkable Parent; Most Outstanding Adult Volunteer; Most Outstanding Student Volunteer; Most Outstanding Youth Organization; Most Outstanding Partner Organization; and Most Generous Partner. The Minister’s Award and the Director’s Award will also be presented at the reception.
A highlight of the evening’s proceedings will see 23 persons presented with First Aid and CPR certificates, officially enabling them to render assistance in cases of medical emergencies. The participants were trained on November 03, 2018, by the St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross. They have the distinction of being the first graduates of the training organized by the Department of Youth Empowerment.
