Press Release from HE the Governor and the Commissioner of the Royal Anguilla Police Force

At 6:25 am this morning, 20 January 2019 the Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) responded to an incident in the Cove area of West End. Once police arrived on the scene, one individual had received a non-life threatening stab wound and another received injuries from a blunt instrument.

During the course of the attempted arrest the suspect, who was still armed with a knife, received injuries from the discharge of a police firearm. At the time of this Press Release, the suspect is in stable condition at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The two RAPF Officers involved have been removed from duty in accordance with the police post incident management policy, and an external independent investigation will be conducted. The RAPF have appointed a Safeguarding Incident Officer and a Family Liaison Officer will be assigned to the family.
