GROUND-BREAKING IN CONAREE FOR BUILDING NEW HOMES
TEAM UNITY ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES ITS HOUSING REVOLUTION WITH GROUND BREAKING IN CONAREE
Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 28, 2019 (SKNIS): The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is continuing its mandate to provide affordable homes in the Federation for citizens and residents with its most recent ground-breaking ceremony for a new slate of houses in Poland, Conaree, on January 26.
Minister of Human Settlement and Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Eight, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, who is celebrating his ninth year as a parliamentarian, said during his time as representative for Conaree, the community has undergone a lot of development, including eight homes that have already been built with six more to be constructed shortly.

“This village of Conaree is part of a bigger picture which flows into what we do on the national scale. The bigger picture is that the deliverables by this government can mirror any government anywhere. Every good job deserves a second term,” he stated.

Acting General Manager of NHC, Lisford Isaac, said that the housing development will be comprised of six, two-bedroom houses, while noting that since the Team Unity Housing Solution Programme came on stream, NHC has delivered 126 houses with another 112 that have started.

“Today we are here at Poland to break ground for another set of houses for six deserving families. We continue to find creative ways to afford more families housing and increasing the housing stock. I wish to thank all those involved in making the dreams become realities for homeowners,” he said.

The houses being built in Poland are just some of the projects that will be rolled out in the community. Chairman of the NHC Board, Valentine Lindsay, said that NHC will be building out at least three new projects in the area including the addition of 17 lots in the Poland Area and six town houses that will serve 28 families in Conaree Hill.

“This ceremony is quite simple but is significant and I am trusting that the six families that will get the homes here will cherish them,” he said.

Another ground-breaking ceremony will be held on January 29 at Parry’s Housing Development in St. Peters followed by an Individual House Allocations Rally throughout constituency 8 on January 31.
