Event: How We Should Live —
The Meaning and Moral Significance of the Holy Bible

With Ervin Welsh of Positively Inclined

Basseterre, St. Kitts. February 19, 2019 – Positively Inclined presents Playing the Fence, an interactive public discussion on the topic, “The Way We Should Live” – The Meaning and Moral Significance of the Holy Bible. The event will be hosted by Philosopher, Teacher and Entrepreneur, Ervin Welsh.

In Ervin’s words, “ ‘Playing the Fence’ means not choosing sides. It’s actively holding middle ground. It’s leaning to whichever side the truth rears its head at any point in time. There’s no chest-beating, no hot air blowing, it’s not a public speaking pageant. It’s an opportunity to gain some perspective in our pursuit of truth toward principled living.”

To this end Ervin is making resources available that explain perspectives he’ll be putting forward so persons can chew over their thoughts and come prepared to meet the discussion where it’s at and engage. Resources include recordings he made and books he has read (which are available online). These resources are at getfit.playingthefence.com.
The upcoming event comes almost a year after another such event privately held on the topic “How Good Is Giving Back?” The aim of that event was to understand participant’s perspectives on whether the way we approach social issues needs to be revisited from the ground up or whether we’re doing the best we can all things considered.

The focus of the forthcoming event will be exploring the idea that the way we live leaves much to be desired given our social and spiritual values. This is the reason for the dual focus on how we should live generally and what the Bible has to say about it. Ervin believes it calls us to be much less willing contributors to the social dysfunction and personal dissatisfaction we’ve grown use to.
The upcoming edition of Playing the Fence is for those deeply concerned about social issues and those earnestly seeking answers about the Bible and the Christian faith. Ervin isn’t submitting this is where the dialogue will end; on the contrary, he argues this is the starting place for a new kind of dialogue — one toward meaningful change for the better.

The event will take place on Thursday 28th February, 2019 at the Dining Hall at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium. Start time is 6pm sharp. Admission is free.
