THE PRINCE OF WALES SALUTES YOUNG LEADERS FROM ST. KITTS AND NEVIS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 22, 2019 (SKNIS): The contributions of three young persons from St. Kitts and Nevis who positively impact the lives of others were highlighted by The Prince of Wales as he addressed scores of persons gathered at Government House in St. Kitts for a private reception. The reception was held in honour of the March 21, 2019, Royal Visit of The Prince and his wife, The Duchess of Cornwall.

“We’ve heard about so many wonderful people doing marvellous things in their communities. People like Dion Browne, who’s working to tackle antisocial behaviour among young people, or Trevis Belle, [who’s] “Making A Difference Everywhere” to improve the local environment and helps students struggling in school, or Javon Liburd, who established J3H to recognize outstanding students from village areas,” The Prince of Wales said.

The trio have the distinct pleasure of being recipients of The Queen’s Young Leaders Award. The award recognizes and celebrates exceptional young people aged 18-29 from across the Commonwealth, who organize activities to benefit their community and transform the lives of others.

Liburd was the first youth from the twin-island Federation to receive the award when it was introduced in 2015. Belle was honoured in 2016, followed by Browne in 2017.

The Prince of Wales was photographed interacting with the young men during the reception at Government House. The photo was shared on the official Twitter account of Clarence House. Clarence House is the official residence of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
