The donation was made on Wednesday (April 10, 2019) at TDC’s Home and Building Depot at the C. A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site by Clerk Nardin Nisbett. Youth Officer, Steven Gilbert, accepted the donation of four hand shovels, four hand forks, two shovels, three hole diggers, 200 gloves, 200 garbage bags and a half bundle of steel to assist with the fencing of plants.
The Volunteer Corps is coordinated by the Department of Youth Empowerment. Mr. Gilbert regularly accompanies the volunteers and participates in various tasks. This includes a tree planting project. He expressed gratitude for the tools noting that they will greatly assist the work of the volunteers as they execute community service projects around St. Kitts and Nevis.
TDC remains a key corporate partner to the Department of Youth Empowerment. In December 2018, the company received the Minister’s Award for its invaluable contribution to the department’s developmental programmes.
