Hon Hamilton leads Constituency Group in Conaree community walkthrough

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, June 6, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Area Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Eight, the Hon Eugene Hamilton, who has been conducting community walkthroughs in Conaree area of his constituency continued on Wednesday June 5 with a successful walkthrough in Poland Housing.

Supporting the Hon Hamilton in the late afternoon, early evening, walkthrough on Wednesday were members of the Constituency Group drawn from the People’s Action Movement (PAM) and the Peoples Labour Party (PLP). They included the respective chairmen of Constituency Number Eight Branch Executives, Mr Roy Rogers of PAM, and Mr Deon Webbe of PLP.

“The team in the walkthroughs comprises people from the People’s Action Movement (PAM), and people from the Peoples Labour Party (PLP) – in other words a solid Team Unity team on the ground, with me as the representative,” said the Hon Hamilton. “It was a productive afternoon and our campaign continues tomorrow (Thursday 6).”

The walkthrough started on Buchanan Road, but on reaching the site where the National Housing Corporation is putting up three duplexes, the team walked up the hill to Poland Housing on a circular road that finally took them back to where they started on Buchanan Road. They stopped at Iris Fancy Spot for refreshments where some of their members led by Mr Deon Webbe engaged locals in a game of draughts.

“From all appearances the persons with whom we have met, and we have not missed any household at least not deliberately, have shared with us the information that is vital to the longevity of the Team Unity Government in office,” noted the Hon Hamilton.

The Area Parliamentary Representative called on every home along the route and where the owner/s was/were present, he asked them what ideas they had and what the government could do differently to enhance the quality of life of the individual.

“Although some may not have thought about the question before, I do invite them to think about it when I am gone and to provide answers to me, even if by just sending a message to invite me to listen to what they are recommending, because as I usually say to them, I do not boast of possessing all of the ideas in my own head,” observed the Hon Hamilton. “So whatever is recommended by them, I do take on board. I have had some recommendations and I am grateful.”

The Hon Eugene Hamilton was first elected as the Member of Parliament for St. Christopher Eight in 2010. He is the Deputy Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM), one of the three parties in the Team Unity Administration, and the Minister of Agriculture, Health, National Insurance, Human Settlements, Community Development, Gender Affairs and Social Services in the Team Unity Administration.

Final community walkthrough for the Conaree area will be on Thursday June 6 in Border Side. Next week the team will move to Canada Estate on Tuesday June 11, and on to Keys on Wednesday June 12 and Thursday June 13.
