FATAL FIRE AT DOUGLAS ESTATE BEING INVESTIGATED

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 13, 2019 (RSCNPF): The Police and St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) are investigating a fatal fire at a business establishment which occurred on June 13.

Police received a report of a fire at All B’s Bar at Douglas Estate at approximately 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning and responded. The Fire and Rescue Services team was summoned to the scene to extinguish the fire. They then discovered the body of 64-year-old Cleveland Collins who was in the establishment at the time lying motionless on the floor.

The District Medical Examiner arrived on scene, examined the body and pronounced him dead.

The scene was processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into police custody. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Thursday 13th June 2019)- Police officers and workers from the Fire and Rescue Services Department have left the scene of a deadly fire incident at a shop at Douglas Estate in St.Peter’s which occurred some time after 3:00 am this morning. This was tragic moment leaving  mourners of relatives, remembering the victim.

Liamuiga Funeral Home has left the area having been parked close to the destroyed building after a medical doctor officially pronounced a man dead coupled with efforts to remove the body.

The victim is identified as Gregory.
