Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris and His Excellency the Governor–General, Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP
While addressing listeners to the popular radio programme, Prime Minister Harris praised the support the Governor General has given to the Team Unity-led administration.
“Our Governor General, Sir Tapley Seaton, has been an excellent Governor General and it is, in my view, the best we have had both in terms of his work load and in terms of the quality of support he has given to the government, he has given to the NGO [non-governmental organization] community and has given to the business community. It has been one of the best selections that the Cabinet of the Team Unity administration has had in terms of finding persons for leadership,” Prime Minister Harris stated.
Since his appointment as Governor General, Sir Tapley has generously hosted numerous governmental, regional, business and community oriented events at Government House.
He has also hosted dignitaries at Government House including His Royal Highness Prince Henry (Harry) of Wales in November 2016, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in March, 2019, and most recently the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Her Excellency Dr. Tsai Ing-wen, earlier this month.
Furthermore, Dr. Harris indicated that he has personally benefited immensely from the wise counsel and support provided by His Excellency the Governor General.
Sir Tapley has served as Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis from September 01, 2015. Prior to his appointment, His Excellency served as Acting Governor General from May 14, 2015.
Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton is the fourth Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis.
