Prime Minister Harris joins worshippers at Holy Family Church in Molineux
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 5, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, on Sunday August 5 joined worshippers at the Holy Family Church in Molineux in Constituency Number Seven. The worship service was held on the 18th Sunday of Ordinary Time according to the church’s liturgical calendar.
Prime Minister Harris, who is also the Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, was accompanied by members of Constituency Number Seven Group of the Peoples Labour Party (PLP) among them the PLP National Women’s Arm Representative Mrs Sonia Henry, and the PLP National Youth Arm Representative Mr Manasses Huggins.
The Peoples Labour Party is one of the three parties in the Team Unity Administration, the others being the People’s Action Movement (PAM), and the Nevis-based Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM). Dr Harris is the National Political Leader of the Peoples Labour Party.
The worship service was led by Father Lawrence Malama, and scripture messages were read by Ms Winifred Weekes and Ms Sarah Owen. The Prime Minister and his entourage were at the end of the service welcomed and thanked for attending the church by Ms Winifred Weekes, the Liturgical Ministers’ Animator for Sunday August 4.
During the service, at the invitation by the pastoral team to all the worshippers, Dr Harris shared the sign of peace with the worshippers by moving from pew to pew and greeting each worshipper, a move that was widely appreciated by all in the church.
Prime Minister Harris who is a God-fearing leader leads by example by supporting the church and its work in the country by attending worship services at different churches and participating in other church related activities.
The Prime Minister Harris-led Team Unity Administration went further and recognised the importance of God in people’s lives by creating a Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, which is headed by Senior Minister the Hon Vance Amory. The ministry has collaborated with the different churches in the country to ensure that the church receives the highest level of support from the government.
